Off Track Distance Races
The club completed a successful season in the West Yorkshire Cross Country League at a frost bound Rothwell on Sunday. The club took four overall league titles in the junior races with 2nd place in another event.
Under 13s: The Boys came 2nd team on the day but took the overall title. Ollie Wright led the team home in 2nd place on the day to take 3rd place overall in the series. The girls were led home by Aimee Keefe in 3rd on the day and in the overall series as they won the team event on the day but came 2nd in the overall series.
Under 15s: The under 15 boys team won on the day to complete a 100% record in the series. Isaac Stabler, who didn’t run the last race came 2nd in the overall series. Despite another good turnout the girls came 3rd on the day but previous results meant that they took the overall league title.
Under 17s. The women’s team were led home by Lottie Langan who won the race following a sprint finish. Jessica Robertson-Dover came 3rd as the team came 1st on the day and completed a clean sweep across the series. Lottie and Jessica also came 1st and 3rd in the overall series. Beau Wannell-Jamieson came 2nd in the men’s race as no team got completed on the day or in the series. Lucas Stabler, who didn’t run the last race came 3rd in the overall series.
Seniors: Chrissie Dover came 6th on the day and took the overall Vet 40 series title based on the time gap to the 2nd placed runner for the overall series. Holly Moss came 2nd overall in the under 20 age group with Therese Jansson coming 3rd in the Vet 35 series age group. Mark Bolland-Cage was the leading runner from the club in the senior men’s race as he came 8th.
The club had 12 runners doing parkrun. William Hardy in only his 2nd parkrun came 1st at Wetherby in 19.06. Isabel Madden came 1st at Selby in 22.20 with Chrissie Dover having a leisurely run round Heslington in 23.26 to also come 1st. Josh Reid won the York Junior parkrun in 8.34.
