Over 25 City of York AC athletes descended on Woodburn Road, Sheffield for this Bank Holiday Monday athletics competition. With green and black vests everywhere, a local coach remarked that this felt like a York home match!
The weather at the start of the day was not great but manageable. However, in the afternoon the weather deteriorated badly with a huge amount of rainfall and increasing winds affecting performances.
Outstanding performances on the day from Joe O’Brien (U20) – 8.46.25 for 3000m, Gianluca Mastrolonardo (U17) – 9.19.61 for 3000m, Lottie Langan (U15) – 4.39.37 for 1500m and Esme Pounder (U15) – 11.87 for 75m hurdles and 1.58m in the High Jump.
